Following the alliance between Copa Airlines and Continental (now United), the company needed to merge the architectural language of the two carriers and create a lounge with Latin flair at the bustling Tocumen International Airport in Panama (PTY). Copa teamed up with GRI to facilitate communication between the two airlines and PTY to design an oasis for travelers. 

 

With the lounge at peak capacity nearly a decade later, Copa once again tapped GRI, this time to expand the original space. GRI was able to add 32 percent more capacity (from 166 to 220) and over 2,500 square-feet to the original space. GRI also upgraded the illumination, wiring and IT systems to further bolster the Copa brand and guests. GRI's ability to communicate in two languages (English and Spanish) and knowledge of airport codes and regulations created an exceptional outcome for all stakeholders.
